Yeshé Tsogyel Empowerment and Dzogchen Transmissions
According to the Aro gTér Nyingma Lineage
The nondual enlivening power of Yeshé Tsogyel, is beyond measure or comparison. As Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) was the male Vajrayana Buddha of Himalayan Buddhas — likewise his consort Yeshé Tsogyel was the female Buddha. Her Dzogchen lineage is a path of liberation from the pathology of duality.
It is with great anticipation and joy that we are pleased to announce that our request for this empowerment and transmission has once again been kindly received by Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen.
The earliest beginnings of Spirit Horse in 1990 were mingled with the lineages of Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tsogyel. We cannot be other than deeply grateful for the inspiration and openings which arose from meeting Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen. A great adventure of the highest order ensued! Without their kindness and teachings, we might have missed this inconceivable opportunity.
After clear visions of Yeshé Tsogyel 25 years ago—deep amongst the oaks—a small Dakini Temple was dedicated to her. It was built with boundless tribal enthusiasm at Spirit Horse. If it is too small to fit everybody inside, the empowerment and transmission will take place near this revered secret place.
Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen will give Vajrayana teachings, introduction to Dzogchen, and the lineage of Yeshé Tsogyel on the Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The empowerment will take place on Saturday afternoon — and is open to all; experienced practitioners or complete beginners.
All are welcome to stay Saturday night for practice, contemplation, and celebration. On Sunday morning there will be a short programme until lunchtime.
The suggested contribution of £220 covers all meals, teas, simple shared accommodation, camping, parking and everything provided by Spirit Horse and also a modest contribution to Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen.
You may wish to consider a further offering towards the work and teaching of Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen when you attend.
Ngak'chang Rinpoche
Ngak’chang Rinpoche went to Nepal in 1971 at the age of 19. He studied one-to-one with Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche Jig’drèl Yeshé Dorje who recognised him as the incarnation of gTértön Aro Yeshé and ordained him as a ngakpa. He was later sent to Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche in Tso Pema for in depth experiential exploration of Dzogchen. He was coached as a Lama to reveal gTérma and teach in the West. He established the Drala Jong Nyingma Retreat Centre in Carmarthenshire with his consort Khandro Déchen.
Khandro DéChen
Khandro Déchen was recognised in 2005 by Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche as the incarnation of Jomo A-yé Khandro — the consort of gTértön Aro Yeshé. She was a university qualified nurse before joining Ngak’chang Rinpoche in a married teaching partnership. She specialises in iconographic line drawing and the Dzogchen sKu-mNyé system of energetic exercises.
