Celebration in the Wild
Join us for Samhain Celebration at Spirit Horse, mountain retreat.
A time of ecstatic of Celebration and deep inner work!
Time in Wild Nature, Off-grid in the mountains
Opportunity to Star gaze, Forest bathe, Meditation & Exploration
In ancient Ireland people gathered to feast at the start the year, for the ancient Celts saw evening twilight as the start rather than the end of the day, and November as the start of the year, marked by Samhain.
This major fire festival was a time to be near people, the clan and the hearth, not out alone in the wild, where the people of the shee, the fairy folk might be up to mischief. And with their world only a veil away it was worth taking precaution.
These customs are lost but as we make a new earth revering, earth loving culture from scratch it is good to set aside time to mark this node.
Our invitation at Spirit Horse is to gather in a genuine hand built roundhouses evoking and actually touching the world of the past while we honour old ways, ancestral roads, going deep ritually, but also celebrating and having fun, as no new culture will ever flower if it’s not ecstatic, natural and already in us.
Seeing our original nature, sensing it and boldly following it.
