4th - 14th May 2023
This is an intense week-long training, full of challenge, triumph and humour, that will equip you to be a top crew member at any green field and off-grid event in the country.
You'll learn how to cook supper for 40 plus people (perfect rice and chappatti), provide a tipi with exactly the right firewood, build bridges and compost toilets, use carpentry tools, build round houses hands on, split and collect wood safely on mountainous terrain, hold your own with humour, style and grace, find your own unique wild contribution and make tea for a whole tribe in 12 and a half minutes!
After you have successfully completed this course, you have the option to enter into discussions about joining our crew for the summer. Crew do not have to pay for living or course participation. In return they fully support our events with panache, energy and verve.
Our program covers:
All meals and teas
Please bring your tent (Shared yurts spaces are limited, but can be offered in case of emergency)
To get a sense of life here, have a read through our Practicalities page.
Join the team for 2023! Learn how to support any green field event.
Want to learn how to run off-grid events and retreats?
Complete this training and we will consider you to become part of the crew.
Live off-grid and communally in the mountains of wild Wales with all costs covered.
Take part in all our events for free in return for your full support and commitment.
There is no expectation to become a full-time crew member after you have done the course.
If we are happy to take you on, get in touch with us as you like to arrange to come help out.
Skilled crew members:
If you cannot come to this course but are an experienced cook, carpenter, marketer or have any trade experience we will still consider you. Just email us what you can offer and depending on the gaps in our team we may give you a trial period of 7 - 10 days at any time during the season, except August.
Our first preference is for anyone who has done the training course, during which you will get a full introduction to Spirit Horse and how the site is run.
You'll have to be pretty darn good to pass the test but if you triumph the welcome is mighty!
Arrive between 3pm - 7.30pm.
Please make sure to arrive on site at the arrival time. We will ferry you and all your gear in our four wheel drive vehicles down the steep mountain road to the village (if you don't fancy the spectacular mountain footpath). This takes only a few minutes but you will have to load everything into our vehicles with our help. Welcome to the Bhutan of Wales. You can have the full Himalayan adventure without ever leaving Britain.
August Full Immersion:
We don't take new crew during August but it's still possible to live with the tribe.
August Immersion includes all our main events (Sacred Man Sacred Woman, an Enlightenment Intensive and Cauldron of Plenty) and you can stay with us during all of the in-between times too. You are free to wander the mountains, explore hidden paradises and hang out around the fire.
Bookings and Cancellations Policy
It is really helpful for us when running courses and events if you book in advance.
If we have to cancel an event, we will provide you a full refund without question.
If you need to cancel your booking, you can carry the value of your booking over to another event (subject to availability) or pay £100 admin fee, unless exceptional circumstances.
